Mac Voisin
Mac Voisin graduated from the University of Waterloo with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and additionally obtained his real estate broker's license. In 1976 he and his brother, Greg, built over 100 homes in the Waterloo Region.
In 1980 Mac and his brother-in-law, Mark Nowak, embarked on a ground-breaking venture launching the first M&M Meat Shop in Kitchener, Ontario. Their vision revolutionized the retail sector by offering consumers high quality restaurant-style food products, setting the stage for a culinary shift in the industry. By 1985, the reins of the company transitioned solely into Mac's capable hands when his brother Mark pursued his law practice. Under Mac's steady hand, the company grew over the next 30 years to more than 400 franchises, and over 100 Head Office employees before he sold the company in 2014.
Mac's innovative approach to business, and dedication to hard work earned him numerous accolades from both the business community and charitable organizations. His notable recognitions include being honored among "Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies" and receiving the prestigious "Man of the Year" accolade from the Canadian Food Industries. His efforts in fundraising for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC) garnered widespread acclaim, further emphasized by his receipt of the "Entrepreneur of the Year" award in the Retail category for Ontario.
Mac's journey stands as a testament to visionary leadership, business acumen, and a heartfelt commitment to making a tangible difference in both the business landscape and the lives of those who are less fortunate. World Housing is honoured to have Mac as part of the Board of Directors helping to lead the strategic growth of World Housing in our mission to combat global homelessness.
