The ‘Agents of Change’ program was created to empower the real estate industry to create social impact through the sale of residential real estate. This program enables realtors to donate funds from the sale of homes. 100% of all funds raised are used to build homes for families living in slums around the world.
In the fall of 2016, World Housing and New Story joined forces with the executive team from Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty to create a philanthropic program to make real social impact. Driven by the passion and commitment of the executive team and managing brokers the Agents of Change program was created and launched in March 2017.
The Agents of Change program has perfectly aligned with Sotheby’s International Realty’s brand and corporate values, while appealing to the hearts of their agents and real estate clients.
“Sotheby’s International Realty believes that homeownership is the foundation that gives people the chance for a better life. Through engaging realtors and empowering them to become social entrepreneurs, we are changing the lives of families one home at a time.” — Philip White, CEO Sotheby’s International Realty
Since launching the program, over 600 Sotheby’s realtors have opted into the program from all over the USA and Canada.
Through the generosity of all participating Agents of Change – we are nearing completion on a beautiful 32 home community located in Zacatepec, Mexico. Together with our partners New Story Charity we have selected this part of Mexico to help rebuild after families lost everything in the massive 2017 earthquake. Families in the state of Morelos were hit especially hard and many lost everything. With construction in the final stages, we will soon be able to open the doors to this incredible new community, funded entirely by the Agents of Change.
