World Housing is proud to partner with Gawad Kalinga in Manila in the Philippines. Their mission aligns with ours as it seeks to empower poor communities to become self-reliant and sustainable by building up its people, preparing their leaders and residents to eventually care for their own communities. Gawad Kalinga has become a trusted partner with their proven experience in community development in the Philippines. They have housed over 70,000 people in more than 2,000 communities across the Philippines and their goal of putting community above all else has helped to transform the lives of families.
World Housing’s mission is to provide safe homes as the foundation for families to thrive. World Housing is committed to providing not only homes, but communities that unlock access to health and education as the basis for sustainable social change.
In November of 2015 World Housing broke ground on the first partnership community with Gawad Kalinga in Manila. 64 homes were built through the funding support of World Housing’s donor partner Bosa Properties. Through the sale of Bosa’s Pacific Gate housing development in San Diego, California a portion of the proceeds from each condo sold in this beautiful high rise, was contributed to World Housing to build homes for families in need of safe housing.

The homes World Housing builds in partnership with Gawad Kalinga are made of locally produced materials. The colourful exteriors of these 260 square foot homes are a true representation of the uplifting optimism of the community, the culture and the country.
